Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty can be for upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both eyelids. Asian blepharoplasty is also another modification done to create an upper eyelid crease in people with oriental looks who want to get rid of it. 

It is a daycare procedure and you will be discharged immediately after the procedure.

You will be admitted on the day of surgery. The surgery is conducted under local anaesthesia and takes about 1 hour. Excess skin and fat are excised and the skin is stitched with sutures. You will have Steristrips sticker dressing applied to the wound. You will be discharged immediately after the procedure once you are comfortable.

You will also have some normal swelling. There will be a follow-up appointment after 1 week to check the wound and the stitches are removed. Most of the swelling goes down in a week, but final results can be usually seen after 6 weeks of surgery when the swelling completely recedes.

You will be able to go back to normal activities from the very next day. Strenuous activity like jogging, gym and sports can be resumed after 2 weeks.

Infection, bleeding, swelling, bruising and pain are common complications that can happen. The pain will be managed by our acute pain service team while in the hospital. The fat that is injected can get absorbed by the body. About 60% of the fat is retained at the site. Despite doing overfilling, you might still need multiple sessions to get the perfect result.

. Your vitals will be monitored till it is deemed safe for you to be discharged. In addition to painkillers and antibiotics, you will be given eye drops or ointment.

. Avoid driving for 24 hours post-procedure.
