Veneers are used to fix various dental problems including - teeth discoloration, worn out teeth, irregularly shaped teeth, mal-aligned, and uneven teeth, broken or chipped off teeth and teeth with gaps in between them.
Dental veneers provide natural appearance to the teeth. They are also permanent if maintained properly and durable with stain resistant and can be easily cleaned.
Since it is an invasive procedure there is a small amount of loss of tooth surface. Some patients may have sensitivity to a degree.
Porcelain and composites are the most commonly used materials for veneers.
Dental veneers are a great solution for people with discoloured, worn out, chipped, mal-aligned, spaced, uneven or irregularly shaped teeth.
Dental veneers last for approximately 5 to 10 years when properly taken care of.
Normally dental veneers do not require any special care other than brushing and flossing. It is advised to get professional cleaning done once every 6 months.
Like any foreign objects in the mouth you require some time to adjust to veneers. It is subjective and it may take 1 to 2 weeks to adjust to veneers.
You need to be careful when using oil pulling because it may potentially damage the veneers or it may dislodge it.
